egg yoke is very bad for people with high cholesterol.

If you have high cholesterol, eat egg white, it has low cholesterol. Also, the following foods lower cholesterol:
oatmeal
Salmon
Tuna
Olive oil

Don’t eat egg yolk, just leave out the yolk in all recipes - you could still use eggs in your food!

every egg yolk is packed with 250mg of cholesterol so stay away its not worth a heart attack, the whites are a pure protein and if combined with oats will deplete your bloodstream of hdl-the bad,eat plenty of tuna in spring water as well,gl

Hi Sunita,

Here are 8 steps you can take to lower cholesterol levels:

1. Know your numbers

You need to know your LDL, HDL, and triglyceride levels to determine appropriate actions. The most effective way to raise HDL is not necessarily the best way to lower LDL.

2. Evaluate your lifestyle

Know risk factors you can change and those you cannot.

3. Balance your fats

Reduce unhealthy saturated fats in your diet and replace them with heart healthy unsaturated fats.

4. Be active

Physical activity lowers triglycerides and raises HDL (good) cholesterol.

5. Eliminate trans fats

Trans fats raise LDL (bad) cholesterol, lower HDL (good) cholesterol, and raise triglycerides.

6. Understand triglycerides

Triglycerides are impacted the most by your simple sugar and alcohol intake.

7. Increase dietary fiber

You need 25-35 grams of dietary fiber daily, especially soluble fiber.

8. Add omega 3 fatty acids

Omega 3 fatty acids are involved in the regulation of heart rate, blood pressure, and blood clotting.

Here’s a post with more details - http://www.lisanelsonrd.com/blog/your-checklist-to-lower-cholesterol

As far as eggs, a 1999 study found little impact of consuming one egg daily on blood cholesterol levels. It’s currently recommended, for individuals with normal cholesterol levels, to limit dietary cholesterol intake to 300 mg or less daily. Cholesterol in egg – One egg contains 210 mg of cholesterol within the egg yolk. If you have high LDL cholesterol, the current recommendations are to limit dietary cholesterol to 200 mg or less per day.

All the best,

Egg yolk is ok- new results say- 2 eggs a week are good for you but not in excessive mounts

here is how i lowered my cholesterol to a good level and still lowering

for snacking
I take coolwhip and add goodies like peanuts, almonds, walnuts that lower cholesterol and then freeze it- and i switched to fat-free cholesterol free smart balance, cream cheese, cottage cheese, etc…

and i eat the pop smart cholesterol free single serve popcorn

meals-
for dinner I eat chicken

and I make a 7-10 multi bean chili and add oats that actually work well- oats lower cholesterol and so do so many dry beans.
becareful of instant oatmeal tho- all the extras in it can raise bad cholesterol levels

drinks- skim milk, and any thing that has no cholesterol in it

I even use smart balance other products and drink skim milk etc…
my cholesterol went down 16 points in 5 months
and I cut down on snaking and am losing about 2/3 lbs a week

and for cheese- most fat-free are so ver gross- so try the lower-fat kinds

it’s easy to diet too now days because almost all dairy has fat-free- I buy fat-free/cholesterol free cottage cheese, cream cheese, coolwhip to make a frozen dessert-so yummy),skim milk etc…

for whoever gave thumbs down- they were asking for low-c diet also and yes eggs can be eaten http://www.annecollins.com/diet-fats/eggs-cholesterol-advice.htm
just not in excessive amounts
