If a person is over weight will they automatically have high cholesterol?
Because people who are not over weight can still have high cholesterol? Can it be the other way around?

A person can be overweight and have normal cholesterol, and a person can be normal weight or underweight and have high cholesterol.
Cholesterol levels depend on a lot of factors, including but not exclusively weight, age, genetics, diet, and lifestyle.
this is not true it also depends on the body structure and how long they have been overweight. i am well tubby have been since a child went for a complete medical and everything was perfect even the doctor said i should have high blood pressure but no i have not just tubby and happy.
no ,my dad weighed almost 190 kgs and the doctor was surprised that his cholesterol was perfect ,because his diet didn’t include junk food he only ate what my mom prepares and she is used to preparing low cholesterol foods and always makes sure that she doesn’t include too much oil in her food ,so dad’s obesity was due to genetic reasons not due to his eating habits
btw he lost like 80 kgs since then and he still has normal cholesterol
:) Nope. I have been overweight for 30 years..and my cholestrol has always been enviable to that of a skinny person. And yes, you are correct about skinny people with High Cholestrol. It’s not all to do with Food. There are other factors involved.
Your cholesterol level depends on one thing only - your liver. Diet, exercise, lifestyle, do not matter. Statins can artificially lower your cholesterol by inhibiting production in your liver. Of course, statins may destroy your liver in the process.
The real question is why anyone would want to lower their cholesterol. I guess they believe the drug company con.
