healthy food and exercise

Totally change your diet. Stay away from starchy foods ie: potatoes, etc. Eat turkey, chicken, red meat no more than once a week, salmon, lots of vegetables. Go to google and type in high cholesterol diet and many sites will come up. That will help you choose the foods to eat.

I just cut my fat in take by 1/2 and started walking everyday, dropped it in no time at all. It’s the ex cerise that does it. If you exercise hard you probably wouldn’t even have to change your diet much at all.

You say your total cholesterol is high, what is you HDL?
My cholesterol is over 200, but my HDL (the good cholesterol) is high at 88 and is included in that number, so my bad cholesterol (LDL) is actually at a good level.
Eat less cholesterol. Eat whole wheat products. Exercise to raise HDL (good cholesterol) which also lowers LDL.
And remember, you can raise your HDL without your total cholesterol number changing. The idea is to lower your LDL and raise your HDL.

The only way is to eat more essential fatty acids.

High Cholesterol neams your total Chol is over 5.2. There are 3 types-
HDL - high density lipoprotein, good Chol
LDL - Low density lipoprotein, bad chol
Trigyceride

In fact, you need to have your HDL at 1.8-2.5 in order to be healthy. LDL should be below 1.5. Tryglyceride is 0.5-1.2.

Normal high Chol people have LDL over 2.5 or even 3.0. By taking essential fatty acids, yo can greatly reduce LDL and increase HDL, plus regulate trigl.

Waht is the best source of EFA? Answer is flax seed. It comes with 57% of alpha linolinic acid, a type of anti-oxidant type of Omega-3. GRapeseed oil, canola oil and corn oil etc all good too. Olive oil is OK but not the best because it has mostly Oemga-9 (oleic acid).

How to eat it? Cook it at water-boiling temperature or under.
Do not fry or deep fry. Eat raw oil with your potato salad or green salad. Suggestion of daily intake 20-40ml per day.

In the mean time, eat some dietary fibre, good carbo (no intrinic sugar), and enough protein.

Contact me if you need more info. it is not hard.

Diet and exercise…there also meds out there for it as well like Lipator! Talk to your Dr.

Stop eating sugar. Cholesterol, especially triglycerides, will respond to a ketogenic diet more than to a low fat diet.

crestor need a pres.

You can get rid of high cholesterol simply by eating healthy foods like fruits and vegetables and avoiding too much red meat and fats. Also, foods high in fiber and those with omega 3 would be of great help (oatmeal,etc.).Using cooking oils over and over again is a contributing factor to acquiring high cholesterol. We should only use cooking oil once as much as possible and choose the healthy ones such as olive oil or corn oil… Hope these little infos could help you even in small ways.

Diet and excercise are your first best methods. But let me urge you NOT to go on Lipitor/Crestor or any of those cholesterol lowering drugs. All cause muscle weakness and everyone I knew that was prescribed those drugs complained of feeling week. My brother in law got a supplement called Phytomega, which naturally reduces the cholesterol. I’ve attached the information sheet on it.
